Marriage Is a Lifelong Negotiation grows out of Calvin and Patience Sayler’s forty-five years of marriage—the hopes they began with, the pressures they encountered, the lessons they learned, and the conversations that helped them keep choosing one another.

Their story moves from the promise of day one through raising a family, seasons of work and ministry, conflict, change, disappointment, illness, loss, and the rediscovery of friendship and purpose in the empty-nest years.
